Tuesday, 16th June

Programme packaging in Final Cut Pro these 2 days. I'm getting the hang of it, now, but I still avoid mega subtitle replacement jobs. Better get the practice in on simpler work, I think. And there's more than enough of that.

I had to do major work on the audio for a movie. The master was recorded at too low a level, and the dynamic range was way too large for comfortable transmission and listening in the home. 8dB of gain fixed the peak levels, and a further 0 to 12 dB, scene-by-scene, fixed the dynamics. But I must have done in excess of 100 audio edits to sort it all. Two to three hours work. I suspect I'll get no thanks for it, though - I suspect I'll be told, "You should have rejected it."

All this while I'm fighting a recurrence of lurgi - my standard virus infection. It was at it's worst today - I hope it'll start going away now. And the sunburn is still there - not as bad, but I'm still noticeably red.

Wednesday, 17th June

Last night was a virus-induced stupor. It's better this morning, and the standard hiccups are moderating, so I hope I'm over the worst.

Friday, 19th June

The hiccups are back full strength again, and I'm on antibiotics to attempt to control secondary infections - antibiotics don't touch viruses. As a result I have zero energy - I just vegged out in front of the TV. No work, of course, not until Wednesday, now.
